KabasphDesigned for use in waterborne coatings and printing inks, KBW-6871 functions as both a wetting and dispersing agent. It delivers excellent stabilization across inorganic pigments, organic pigments, and carbon blacks. Key benefits include a substantial reduction in grind viscosity and improved long-term storage stability. Furthermore, KBW-6871 is compatible with resin-based millbases (such as emulsions and water-soluble resins) and is equally effective in resin-free pigment concentrates. Our KBW-6871dispersing agent is analogous to BYK2012.

Key Advantages
High-Concentration Dispersion of Inorganic Pigments and Carbon Black
In the preparation of water-based resin-free color pastes, KBW-6871 demonstrates significant advantages with pigments such as titanium dioxide (e.g., R996) and carbon black (e.g., MA100). Experimental data show that it achieves up to 70% pigment loading for titanium dioxide and 40% for carbon black, while maintaining good storage stability of the color paste (viscosity increase remains controllable after 7 days of heat storage at 60°C, with no re-agglomeration). This highlights its clear superiority in applications requiring high pigment content and high tinting strength.
Excellent Alcohol/Ether Resistance
Water-based resin-free color pastes prepared with KBW-6871 show no re-agglomeration or flocculation after mixing and standing with solvents such as ethanol and propylene glycol methyl ether. This characteristic makes it particularly outstanding in systems that require the addition of alcohol/ether co-solvents or have demands for solvent resistance, ensuring stable dispersion of the aforementioned pigments.
Balanced Overall Performance for Organic Pigments
The literature indicates that KBW-6871 can stabilize a wide range of pigments, including both transparent and opaque organic pigments. In comparative tests with various organic pigments (e.g., Pigment Red 254, Phthalocyanine Blue, Phthalocyanine Green, etc.), the color pastes prepared with KBW-6871 showed normal performance in terms of color development, leveling, and fullness, with both advantages and disadvantages compared to imported competitive products. Therefore, for organic pigment systems that require a balance of dispersibility, color development, storage stability, and subsequent coating film properties (such as gloss and water resistance), KBW-6871 is a versatile choice with excellent comprehensive performance.
Good Compatibility and Anti-Floating/Floedging Ability
KBW-6871 exhibits good compatibility with commonly used water-based resin binders (emulsions, water-soluble resins). Experiments have shown that it demonstrates excellent anti-floating and anti-flooding ability in various water-based resins (such as epoxy emulsions and hydroxyacrylic emulsions), which is very important for tinting systems using mixed pigments.
