Moisture curing polyurethane resin systems cure through the reaction of isocyanate groups with atmospheric moisture. However, formulating with moisture curing polyurethane systems presents unique challenges: CO₂ generation during moisture curing can cause air entrapment, bubbles, and pinholes; skinning and curing inconsistency may occur under varying humidity; pigment settling and floating, insufficient substrate wetting, surface defects, and foam generation can compromise final coating quality. For surface control, KBS-L333K and KBS-L3310 deliver excellent wetting and levelling with improved hand feel, while KSB-L358NK and KSB-L3770 are suitable for long-wave levelling in demanding coating and overprint varnish systems. KBS-X052K, KBS-X053K, and KBS-X6800A provide reliable defoaming performance, including non-silicone and silicone-based options for PU systems and thick coating applications.
